Treatment options
There are several types of treatments available that target the underlying causes of ATTR amyloidosis. These treatments work in one of three different ways:

These treatments are designed to lower the amount of TTR protein circulating in the body, which can reduce the amount of amyloid deposits that build up and damage organs.

These treatments are designed to bind to TTR proteins and prevent them from falling apart, which can reduce the amount of amyloid deposits that build up and damage organs.

Since TTR is produced primarily in the liver, a liver transplant may be an option for some.
